Spanish police have dismantled what authorities described as one of the largest criminal networks operating in the Western Mediterranean. The group was involved in the trafficking of migrants, drugs, and weapons across the region.
Investigators believe the network was responsible for at least 64 migrant smuggling operations. These activities resulted in more than 2,000 migrants being brought into Spain.
The criminal organization generated profits of more than 24 million euros from its smuggling operations.
