The eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau has led to the suspension of flights at airports in Jakarta and Lampung on Sunday. Volcanic ash from the volcano spread across parts of Java and Sumatra, causing significant disruptions to air travel.
The ash has impacted thousands of passengers, particularly at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The flight suspension, which extended a halt previously scheduled until 5:30 a.m., has affected 209 flights.
Regarding the potential for further disasters, the disaster mitigation agency stated on Saturday that there was no imminent risk of a tsunami from the volcano.
