KitKat theft: Over 12 tons of chocolate stolen in Europe

business

A large shipment of KitKat candy bars was stolen while in transit across Europe, potentially causing shortages ahead of the Easter holiday. The truck, carrying 413,793 units of the company’s new chocolate range – approximately 12 tons of chocolate – disappeared last week.

The shipment was traveling from central Italy to Poland when it was pilfered on March 26th. The company confirmed the theft in a statement, noting the significant quantity of bars taken.

Responding to the incident, the brand acknowledged the irony, stating, “We’ve always encouraged people to have a break with KitKat, but it seems thieves have taken the message too literally.” Customers may experience limited availability of the product as a result of the loss.
