Meta, Nebius finalize $27B AI infrastructure deal
Meta Platforms has secured a deal with Nebius Group worth up to $27 billion over five years for dedicated AI computing capacity. The agreement expands an existing relationship between the companies and will utilize Nvidia’s Vera Rubin chips in a large-scale deployment. The initial commitment is for $12 billion in capacity across multiple locations by 2027. Meta also has the option to purchase an additional $15 billion worth of planned capacity from Nebius if it remains unsold to other customers. Nebius, a “neocloud” company, provides hardware and cloud capacity to tech firms. News of the deal boosted Nebius’ stock by over 14% in pre-market trading. Meta’s investment reflects its aggressive spending to compete in the AI sector.
