US Military Kills Multiple People in Eastern Pacific Boat Strikes

armed conflict defense & military

The US military has reported multiple recent strikes on vessels in the eastern Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Four individuals were killed in a strike on Tuesday, following a similar incident on Monday that resulted in two deaths.

These attacks mark the third and fourth deadly strikes in the past four days, and the second consecutive day of reported fatalities. The US Southern Command announced the killings, claiming the targets were involved in “narco-trafficking operations” and referred to them as “narco-terrorists”.

Aerial video released by the Southern Command shows a vessel being struck and exploding. The operations, which began in early September, have resulted in a death toll of at least 175 people.

The military’s statements regarding these strikes have generally lacked supporting evidence for claims of narco-trafficking involvement.
