A Michigan man has been released by Bahamian police following the disappearance of his wife during a sailing trip. Brian Hooker, 59, reported his wife, Lynette, missing on April 5, stating she fell overboard from their boat on April 4 in waters off the eastern Bahamas.

Hooker was initially held for questioning for five days, beginning April 8, but has since been released without charges. He told authorities strong currents carried his wife away after she fell overboard.

Despite the shift to a search and recovery operation, Hooker maintains his innocence and expressed hope his wife is still alive, stating he intends to resume the search as soon as possible. He is reportedly in a fragile emotional state.
