North Korea tests new tactical weapons, missiles and launch systems

defense & military

North Korea recently tested a variety of weapons systems under the supervision of leader Kim Jong Un. The tests involved a new lightweight multi-purpose missile launch system, a multiple tactical cruise missile weapon system, tactical ballistic missiles, and artillery. South Korea's military reported that several projectiles, including a ballistic missile, were fired and flew approximately 80 kilometers.

These tests included nuclear-capable cruise missiles equipped with AI-guided controls and precision navigation. The exercises were designed to confirm the combat readiness of these systems, which are intended for deployment with frontline units facing the border with South Korea.

The recent activity is part of an ongoing effort by Kim Jong Un to modernize North Korea's conventional forces. The country has been steadily upgrading its weapons arsenal through the development of these tactical missile and artillery systems.
