An Austrian court on Thursday sentenced a 21-year-old man to 15 years in prison for plotting a foiled Islamist attack on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna in 2024. The defendant, known as Beran A., was found guilty of various mainly terrorism-related offences.

Prosecutors stated that the defendant planned to target people outside the stadium using knives or homemade explosives, specifically intending to set off a bomb. The concert was later canceled. Another man was also convicted on separate terrorist charges.

During the trial, the Austrian man admitted to planning the attack. Following the court's decision, he said, "I would just like to say that I am sorry."
