Jon Rahm to leave bankrupt LIV Golf over 'unacceptable' terms

sports

Former world number one and two-time major champion Jon Rahm is leaving the LIV Golf League. According to his attorney, Rahm is currently working to finalize a separation agreement by October 15.

During a bankruptcy court hearing on Wednesday, Rahm's attorney, John Beck, stated that the golfer decided to leave after reviewing the details of the league's planned next phase. Beck noted that Rahm reviewed the proposed terms of LIV 2.0 and determined that they were unacceptable.

Rahm's decision to quit after rejecting the restructuring plan deals a major blow to the breakaway circuit. LIV Golf filed for bankruptcy in September 2026.
