Iranian Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated on Saturday that Iran has been victorious in the field during weeks of war. He noted that Iran only agreed to a temporary truce with the United States because its demands had been met. This two-week ceasefire is scheduled to end on April 22 unless it is renewed.
No date has been set for the next round of negotiations between Iran and the United States. Iran's deputy foreign minister indicated that a framework of understanding must be agreed upon first. Both sides are currently focused on finalizing this framework before proceeding with further negotiations.
A senior Iranian official stated that Iran is not ready for new face-to-face talks with the U.S. Additionally, speaking at a diplomacy forum in Turkey on Saturday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh affirmed that Iran will not hand over its enriched uranium to the United States.
