Russian strikes kill in Ukraine as Kyiv hits an oil refinery twice in a week

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the expansion of Ukraine's long-range drone campaign with new strikes deep inside Russia. For months, domestically developed and manufactured drones and missiles have targeted Russian oil facilities, including refineries, terminals, storage depots, and pipeline pumping stations.

As part of this campaign, Ukrainian forces have struck the Ufa oil refinery for the second time in a week. The Ufa refinery stands as one of Russia’s largest producers of oil and gas products.

These attacks on oil facilities have created a fuel crisis and increased political pressure on the Kremlin. Anger from Russians searching for gas at stations has begun to emerge on social media. The Russian leader has admitted for the first time the impact of Kyiv's deep-strike operations, although he downplayed them.

Meanwhile, Russian long-range attacks on Ukraine continue. Recent strikes on the Kharkiv, Odesa, and Kherson regions have left some 50 people wounded.
