Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu departed for Washington, D.C., on Monday to meet with President Donald Trump. The two leaders are scheduled to hold face-to-face talks on Tuesday, marking their eighth meeting since Trump returned to the Oval Office.
The discussion will focus on the war in Iran, representing the first time the two leaders have met in person since the start of the conflict. Prime Minister Netanyahu intends to press President Trump to maintain a constant watch on Iran's nuclear program.
Netanyahu stated that he has no new evidence that Tehran's ability to build a weapon has been destroyed. In addition to the security concerns regarding Iran, the Prime Minister is also mindful of the coming elections back home.
