France replaces Palantir with a domestic provider over US overreliance fears

France's domestic intelligence agency, the DGSI, is dropping data-analysis tools from the American firm Palantir Technologies Inc. in favor of software from ChapsVision, a domestic provider.

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced the transition, framing the move as part of a wider push to place sovereign technology at the center of the French state. Lecornu stated that France must build genuine strategic autonomy for its intelligence services in the realms of digital technology and artificial intelligence.

The prime minister emphasized that France cannot rely on tools developed by foreign powers and must use its own AI models to avoid new strategic dependencies in the digital sphere. This shift occurs as European countries increasingly seek to reduce their dependence on US tech firms.
