Golden Tempo stormed to victory at the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on Saturday. The horse claimed the win in the iconic race, also known as the Run for the Roses.
During the event, Golden Tempo charged from the back of the pack to edge out Renegade at the wire.
The win marked a historic landmark for trainer Cherie DeVaux, who became the first woman to train the winning horse at the Kentucky Derby.
By capturing the race in Louisville, Kentucky, DeVaux also became the first female trainer to win the opening leg of the Triple Crown.
