Bryson DeChambeau secured his second consecutive victory, winning the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa title at Steyn City in Johannesburg on Sunday. He defeated Jon Rahm on the first playoff hole after saving par on the final hole of regulation with a 6-under 65.
DeChambeau had previously taken a two-shot lead after the third round, carding two eagles. The final round saw him and Rahm finish at 26-under 258, forcing a playoff. On the 18th playoff hole, DeChambeau hit a 3-wood from a difficult lie to set up a birdie opportunity.
Rahm found a bunker and missed a birdie putt, allowing DeChambeau to secure the win. The victory marks his fifth overall LIV title, joining Joaquin Niemann and Brooks Koepka with at least five wins on the tour. DeChambeau was visibly emotional after the win, having also won the previous week in Singapore. His team, Crushers, also won the team title over Southern Guard.
