British counter-terrorism police have made a total of 23 arrests following a wave of arson attacks targeting Jewish sites and an Iran-critical media outlet in London. The investigation follows a series of firebombings and attempted arsons of synagogues and other Jewish targets across the city.
Recent law enforcement actions include the arrest of seven people for allegedly plotting a further firebombing, while another eight individuals were detained as part of a broader investigation into suspected arson attacks, including a plot targeting a venue linked to the Jewish community. In Watford, counter-terrorism police arrested a 19-year-old and a 26-year-old man in connection with an alleged conspiracy to commit arson at a site connected to the Jewish community, bringing the total arrests for that specific conspiracy to nine. Additionally, a teenager has pleaded guilty to an arson attack on a synagogue.
The Metropolitan police are currently investigating whether the attacks were instigated by Iranian proxies. Authorities are probing whether Iran paid criminal proxies to carry out the series of attacks.
