China’s Car Exports Surge Amid EV Growth, Iran Oil Impact

China’s car exports saw a significant increase in March, driven by growing demand for electric and hybrid vehicles. Overseas shipments jumped 140 percent year-on-year, reaching 349,000 units.

Exports of electric vehicles and hybrids more than doubled, hitting a new record as global interest in EVs rose. This surge comes despite shipment disruptions related to the crisis in the Middle East, a key overseas market.

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers reports that exports of passenger cars have accelerated this month. Chinese automakers are increasingly focused on expanding into international markets amid a slowdown in domestic sales.

This growth in car exports is becoming a vital source of momentum for China’s competitive auto industry.
