Ukraine strikes Russia's Black Sea naval stronghold and grain terminals

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian forces launched a nighttime operation blitzing Russia's naval base in the Black Sea coast city of Novorossiysk. The attack was carried out using a combination of missiles, drones, and unmanned boats.

The operation targeted key maritime infrastructure in the Krasnodar region, resulting in damage to three grain terminals. According to Zelenskyy, the strikes also hit air defenses, piers, and other port infrastructure during the massive overnight drone attack.

This strike demonstrates Kyiv’s ability to threaten Russian military infrastructure far beyond the frontline. The operation further challenges the assumption that shifting vessels from Crimea can keep them safe.
