Russian missiles and drones targeted at least four Ukrainian regions, killing several people. Ukraine responded by striking a Russian oil refinery. Moscow has been focusing on economic targets as ground advances have stalled.
These strikes took place as world leaders gathered in New York for the UN General Assembly. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy began his visit by meeting with US senators, thanking them for strong bipartisan support and for the passage of a tougher Russian sanctions bill signed into law by President Trump.
Zelenskyy also held a meeting with President Trump on Tuesday, which he described as positive and productive.
