Frank Carone, the former chief of staff to former New York City Mayor Eric Adams, was arrested Wednesday in connection with an alleged bribery scheme. Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn have charged Carone, his brother, and two others.

The arrests are part of an investigation into the alleged bribery scheme. This is the latest sign that federal prosecutors continue to scrutinize the inner circle of the former mayor months after the scandal-bruised Democrat left office.

The defendants are expected to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.
