The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has provisionally suspended national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo. The federation's Disciplinary Board opened proceedings against the 41-year-old after his decision to walk out on the national team camp last month.
The suspension comes after the striker left the international camp during Nations League games. This departure followed a dispute with head coach Jorge Jesus.
Ronaldo apologized to supporters on Tuesday and stated that he would serve any suspension imposed on him. During his apology, the veteran player also criticized coach Jorge Jesus.
