President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social Saturday that he has offered the position of White House press secretary to Dana White, the CEO and president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Trump urged White to "please take the job," reflecting his ongoing efforts to link his MAGA politics to the success of the UFC.
In addition to the appointment, the president called on White to bring six current or former UFC titleholders to serve as assistants, noting that some of these individuals are not from the United States. White is a longtime supporter of the president and previously collaborated with him to host an MMA event at the White House.
The offer comes as the White House undergoes a major transition and deals with significant losses for the president's party in Tuesday's midterm elections. The press secretary position has been vacant since October 16, following the departure of Katie Zacharia, who held the role for less than a week.
It was not immediately clear whether White has accepted the offer, and the announcement has not been officially confirmed. Requests for comment have been sent to the White House and TKO Holdings, the parent company of the UFC.
