A Chinese humanoid robot has set a new 100-meter sprint record of 8.86 seconds in Beijing. The achievement took place during the World Humanoid Robot Games.
The new mark beat the previous robot record of 9.39 seconds, a mark the robot had set earlier.
The performance is also faster than the men's 100m world record of 9.58 seconds set by Jamaican Usain Bolt. The Chinese robot is seven-tenths of a second faster than Bolt's record time.
