Johannes Kongsnes Natland, a 19-year-old from Stavanger, Norway, has been convicted of conspiracy to commit murder in Britain.
Natland was recruited by a Swedish organized crime group that prosecutors stated was being used by the Iranian government. He agreed to travel to the UK to carry out a contract killing of an unknown person in exchange for €25,000.
The plot came to an end in March of last year when armed police arrested Natland in a hotel room in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, just two days after his arrival. During the arrest, authorities seized two guns and ammunition. The conviction follows evidence that the teenager had sent selfies featuring weapons to his girlfriend and friends.
