Israeli strikes kill in southern Lebanon amid ceasefire and evacuations

armed conflict defense & military

Israel has continued deadly strikes in southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah that has been in place since April 17. On Saturday, Israeli airstrikes killed at least seven people and wounded others.

Drones and planes hit several towns, with state media reporting that multiple villages were struck and neighborhoods near the border are being levelled. The IDF maintains that 50 airstrikes were conducted over 24 hours, specifically targeting Hezbollah infrastructure.

Israel warned that anyone near Hezbollah fighters or facilities could be at risk. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has pledged to continue its attacks.
