An Egyptian court in Cairo has sentenced well-known television presenter Sarah Khalifa and 11 others to death. The group was convicted for their involvement in a sprawling drug trafficking ring.

Khalifa, 39, was charged with forming an organized criminal gang used to manufacture and traffick narcotics.

The presenter is best known for hosting the program Mission Impossible, which focused on issues concerning security and crime.
