A Cairo court has sentenced popular Egyptian TV presenter Sarah Khalifa and 11 others to death. The convictions stem from their involvement in a major drug manufacturing and trafficking ring.
The case involves a synthetic drug trafficking operation. State media reported that a total of 12 individuals were handed death sentences for their roles in the ring.
Khalifa is best known for hosting the program Mission Impossible, which focused on crime and security issues.
