Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he opposes punishment and court proceedings for the young protesters who marched in New Delhi and other Indian cities in recent weeks. In a video message, he described CJP protesters as misguided children who deserve guidance.
Modi stated that he wants to forgive students who hurled expletives at him during protests last month. He argued that punishing them and forcing them to appear repeatedly in court would not help resolve the situation, asserting that children make mistakes and society should forgive them for using foul language.
The Prime Minister further emphasized that mistakes made in youth should be corrected through guidance rather than legal action, noting that misled children need to be shown the right path. These comments come as his supporters dox and abuse protesters on social media.
