An assailant was killed and two others wounded in a shooting Tuesday outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul. Two police officers also sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Authorities report a gunfight erupted when gunmen attacked the building housing the consulate. Police responded, resulting in one attacker killed and two wounded.
A comprehensive investigation is underway, coordinated by the chief public prosecutor’s office. Media reports indicate three suspects were “neutralised” at the scene. No Israeli diplomats were present in the city at the time of the shooting.
