UEFA has confirmed that a departure payment was made to a female employee who is alleged to have been in a relationship with Gianni Infantino during his time as the organization's general secretary. An investigation by the Daily Telegraph reported that the woman received a six-figure sum following the alleged relationship.
UEFA stated that the payment, along with the coverage of fees for an MBA course, was in line with regulations at the time. Infantino served as the secretary-general of European football’s governing body from 2009 to 2016.
FIFA has dismissed the allegations, describing them as categorically untrue.
