North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and a senior party official have held talks in Pyongyang with Wang Huning, China's top political adviser and fourth-highest-ranked official.
The meetings, which included a Chinese delegation led by Wang Huning, focused on discussing ways to strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
These discussions come as China seeks to reassert its position in the Korean peninsula. This push included a visit to Pyongyang by Chinese President Xi Jinping in June.
During that visit, President Xi promised closer diplomatic, law enforcement, and military cooperation with North Korea.
