Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi met in Tehran on Tuesday to continue talks regarding navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
The two sides discussed an interim, phased framework aimed at resuming shipping through the key waterway. This proposal involves the establishment of a jointly managed temporary navigational corridor and the clearance of mines from the strait.
The Strait of Hormuz became a flashpoint early in the Middle East war. Minister Albusaidi expressed hope that the two countries will soon announce the joint temporary transit corridor.
