An Amazon.com Inc. cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday. The National Transportation Safety Board released details from the cockpit voice recording on Wednesday following interviews with both pilots.
The NTSB reported that the pilots continued with the landing despite multiple warnings regarding the plane's approach speed. While automated warnings sounded in the cockpit, one pilot continued to comment on the speed, but the second pilot did not consistently respond to those warnings.
According to audio from the flight's final moments, one of the pilots called for the landing to be aborted after the plane touched down with too much speed. The recording also captured "too low terrain" warnings sounding several times.
