Tesla shareholders have approved a moonshot pay package for Elon Musk worth $158 billion. This compensation was approved last year to encourage Musk to spend more time at the company and to keep him motivated.
The massive figure comes despite reports that Musk has spent much of his time at his day job working on several side gigs and posting inflammatory content on social media.
The new disclosure regarding the head-turning pay comes with major caveats. Musk must meet a range of ambitious milestones at Tesla to justify the monster pay packet, though he has not done so thus far.
