Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang reportedly targeted by Chinese spy plot

technology

US intelligence agencies believe Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was targeted by a Chinese espionage operation involving Alice Huang, also known as Huang Le. An executive at Megaspeed, a Singapore-based datacenter and AI cloud company, Alice Huang is of no relation to the Nvidia chief executive but reportedly developed a close relationship with him.

Officials determined that Alice Huang acted as a Chinese intelligence asset, passing commercial information to Beijing. She had previously been suspected of smuggling Nvidia chips to China, which prompted American officials to monitor and surveil her activities.

In response to these reports, Jensen Huang stated that Nvidia's dealings with Megaspeed International were normal and not unusual. The company also disputed reports that U.S. intelligence agencies surveilled a person close to the CEO over concerns she could be a Chinese spy.

Additionally, reports indicate that President Trump was briefed on the findings that the businesswoman had been passing intelligence to Beijing, but he took no action.
