Israeli strikes in Lebanon kill at least four, journalists wounded

armed conflict

Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon, specifically in at-Tiri, have left journalists wounded and one trapped under rubble. Reporters Amal Khalil, a newspaper journalist, and Zeinab Faraj, a photojournalist, were caught in the attack. Rescue workers have also reported that a Lebanese journalist was killed in an airstrike in the region.

Lebanon's health ministry, a senior military official, and press advocates stated that rescue teams attempting to aid Khalil and Faraj were temporarily blocked by ongoing Israeli fire. While the Israeli military acknowledged reports that two journalists were injured, it denied preventing rescue teams from reaching the area.

These attacks occurred during a 10-day ceasefire, with one person killed in a village strike prior to scheduled talks between Israeli and Lebanese officials in Washington on Thursday. The Lebanese government has condemned the strike, describing it as a violation of international law.
