Binance is moving to reimburse customers after hackers attempted to drain more than $6 billion from the cryptocurrency exchange in the biggest cyber theft ever recorded. The total amount stolen was approximately $6.3 billion.

The exchange has set aside around $6.34 billion of company funds to cover the losses. Binance stated it has restored backing for 90% to 95% of the stolen assets, noting that the outstanding 10% consists of tokens that are less liquid.

User withdrawals are on track to resume in phases on Sunday, subject to security checks. This process is part of the company's pledge to fully reimburse its customers.
