US President Donald Trump on Friday unveiled a new Air Force One, a converted former Qatari-owned Boeing 747. Trump touted the luxury interior of the aircraft and described it as a "flying White House." The jumbo jet is currently nearly ready for service.
The aircraft will serve as a temporary replacement for the presidential fleet. This temporary measure is necessary because presidential jets ordered directly from Boeing have been delayed until 2028.
Trump stated that it would be "stupid" to reject the gift, adding that "our country has to be represented properly," though he noted that a normal president typically wants to stay away from aircraft. He further mentioned that the plane would eventually be donated to his presidential library.
