A single Powerball ticket sold in Illinois has won a jackpot of $1.04 billion, ending a three-month drought without a top-prize winner. The win marks the largest jackpot of 2026 and the eighth largest in the history of the game.
The winning ticket was purchased for $2 at a Hy-Vee gas station in Quincy, located in western Illinois about 100 miles west of the state capital of Springfield along the Missouri border. The winning numbers for the drawing were 4-26-66-67-69 with a Powerball number of 9.
The sole winner now has a choice regarding how to receive the funds. The lucky player can opt for a lump sum of $450.5 million or the full amount paid out in 30 payments.
