Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned that Russia plans to launch hybrid drone and missile strikes against nations supporting Ukraine, including NATO-member Poland. Citing unnamed intelligence agencies, Tusk outlined this as the most likely scenario for the months ahead as the war enters its most crucial phase.
Tusk stated that these potential strikes are intended to paralyze NATO in an attempt to demonstrate that Article 5 exists only in theory. By targeting allies, Russia seeks to weaken Western support for Ukraine.
These warnings come as tensions rise near the border. Warsaw recently scrambled military planes and sirens sounded in eastern Poland after Russia launched an attack in western Ukraine. During the incident, two Polish airports temporarily suspended flights.
Regarding the prospect of diplomacy, Tusk asserted that Russia is not ready for any peace talks without the total capitulation of Ukraine.
