Motsepe Addresses AFCON Fallout, Corruption Probe Possible

sports football

Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe stated he would welcome a corruption investigation into the organization, asserting they have nothing to hide. This followed a meeting with Senegalese officials in Dakar on Wednesday.

Motsepe emphasized his “zero tolerance” for corruption, describing it as “worse than cancer.” The statement comes after Senegal last month called for a probe after being stripped of the 2025 AFCON title, which was awarded to Morocco.

Senegal is currently appealing the decision to award the tournament to Morocco. Motsepe reiterated his openness to scrutiny, maintaining CAF’s transparency.
