Journalists from CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, who were banned from White House grounds by President Donald Trump, have asked a federal court to block the press ban until their case is resolved. The news organizations are seeking to bar the enforcement of the access ban in all forms.
The request comes after a federal court temporarily lifted the ban last week. However, the current 14-day order is due to expire on October 8, leading the outlets to ask the court on Monday to extend the block to allow for a longer pause while they sue to restore their access.
The news outlets claim the administration has persisted in unpredictably and inconsistently implementing the ban despite a judge's restraining order. They further state that the White House is preventing CNN from fulfilling its television pool duties.
