Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has revealed that hackers stole and published his personal data on the dark web. This breach has left the minister exposed to intimidation and threats.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has attributed the cyberattack to pro-Russian criminals and entities aligned with Vladimir Putin's government. Tajani stated that he was targeted specifically because of Italy's support for Ukraine.

The attacks were also described by Tajani as a reaction to the Foreign Ministry's efforts to strengthen its cybersecurity. The minister further noted that the cyberthreat remains ongoing.

This incident occurs amid a rise in hybrid disruptions and follows a series of bomb threats that have resulted in grounded flights across the European Union.
