Israeli troops clash with settlers besieging Palestinian homes in West Bank

armed conflict

Israeli militants have besieged two Palestinian families in the West Bank village of Qusra in an effort to take over their properties. Since the weekend, settlers and soldiers have cut off water and electricity to the homes and blocked medical care. In one instance, a group set up a tent outside the home of Yousef Hassan, trapping him, his wife, and their two young daughters inside.

On Wednesday, the Israeli military attempted to remove settlers from the blockaded homes, leading to clashes between troops and Jewish settlers. The military sought to disperse the settlers from an outpost established directly in front of the Palestinian residences. However, the forces eventually withdrew from the area after failing to clear the settlers, marking a rare confrontation between the military and the settler group.

In separate actions, Israeli forces arrested 23 Palestinians. Additionally, the military demolished the home of a man who was killed in a confrontation with Israeli settlers in July.
