Israel has escalated its attacks across the Gaza Strip in recent days despite a US-brokered ceasefire. Health officials reported that Israeli gunfire and airstrikes killed at least four people, including three children, on Tuesday.

These attacks follow a strike on Monday that killed at least two Palestinians. In the al-Kateeba district in the west of Gaza City, an Israeli air attack killed at least three people and wounded several others. Witnesses said Israeli warplanes fired at least 12 missiles near the Katiba area, a location crowded with displaced families.

Israel's defense minister stated that the operation resulted in the capture of a senior Hamas member. Hamas claimed that Israel sent covert operatives into Gaza City.
