A pro-Russian cyber group attempted to disrupt operations at a Swedish thermal power plant last year, according to the Swedish government. The attacks, which aimed to disrupt heating supply, are part of a pattern of increasingly frequent and serious Russian hybrid operations.

Civil Defence Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin stated the operation targeted a facility providing heating.

Swedish authorities report that Russian hackers are currently engaged in destructive cyber attacks against organizations across Europe. The government confirmed a pro-Russian actor was responsible for the cyberattack on the heating plant located in western Sweden.
