French Open prize money will increase by 9.5% this year, totaling 61.7 million euros (approximately $72.69 million). Organisers announced the rise on Thursday, noting the largest increases will be directed towards qualifying rounds and early tournament play.
The total purse represents a 9.5% jump from last year’s amount.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on May 24 at Roland Garros. The overall prize pot is also reported as being around $72.1 million.
