The 2-year-old son of Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver died on June 28. Family members found the child unresponsive in a swimming pool at a residence outside Houston.
The Buffalo Bills announced the death on Saturday and expressed their condolences. In a statement, the team called the accidental death an unthinkable tragedy for any parent.
The organization is currently providing Oliver with support and space following the loss.
