Police in Monaco are searching for a man suspected of detonating a makeshift parcel bomb at a residential building on Monday evening. The explosion occurred around 9 p.m. on a street near the French border, leaving three people seriously injured. Minister of State Christophe Mirmand stated that the blast was very likely an attack.

Video surveillance images show a man dropping a backpack at the entrance of the building shortly before the explosion. Local authorities report that the attacker has since fled to France, and a police hunt is currently underway to locate the suspect.

The wounded include a couple and a 13-year-old teenager, two of whom are said to be in critical condition. Reports indicate that Ukrainian oligarch Vadym Yermolaiev was among the injured. Yermolaiev had been sanctioned by Ukraine for allegedly doing business in Russian-occupied Crimea.
