A drone strike on Wednesday caused a fire to break out on two ships at the Mediterranean port of Damietta. The Egyptian cabinet confirmed that the fire was the result of an attack rather than an accident.
According to trading sources, the drone hit a U.S.-owned gas storage tanker, causing a fire that subsequently spread to another vessel.
No party has claimed responsibility for the attack. The incident occurs as Iran, its Houthi allies in Yemen, and Iraqi militias have widened strikes on energy infrastructure across the region.
