Adani Enterprises settles alleged Iran sanctions violations with US Treasury

business legal proceedings

The U.S. Treasury Department has settled a case against Adani Enterprises involving the purchase of sanctioned Iranian energy between November 2023 and June 2025. As part of the settlement, Adani Enterprises agreed to pay $275 million following a probe by the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

This agreement follows a series of other legal resolutions. Adani recently agreed to pay an $18 million settlement in a case linked to corruption, while another Adani-linked company agreed to a multimillion-dollar settlement in a separate U.S. case.

Additionally, the Department of Justice is close to dropping related criminal fraud charges against Adani. This comes as Adani has promised to invest $10 billion in the United States.
